Seems like one of the reasons Garp didn't teach Luffy Haki was because he also didn't use it when training

Garp is so cold blooded, just grabs a few pirates as shield from a fire spit and then throws them away into the others.
But wasn't there the expectation/rumour out that Kuzan is with SWORD? So wouldn't a vice admiral know that? So is their whole fight staged?
I was under the impression that this rumor was debunked in the chapter that told how kuzan joined blackbeard. He seems to be acting out of spite and anger against the marines.
Didn't expect such pettines from him. Just because he didn't get the Admiral job?
Doubt it’ll be that simple…. Finger 🤞
Koby a fraud... Like he went back to rookie status for me. Hachinosu has no civilians. He was had by a rando. Very troupy too. After all the hype about fighting the Kuja Pirates... if Boa would have actually joined the fight, she would have put him on a t-shirt.
I think it works perfectly for him. He is still very naive and humble but his heart is in the right spot, kind of like Luffy used to be/still is. Thats why he is the future of the marines, he will grow more formidable but at the moment its just his core personality which is still in the making.
Despite that, the island seems to be full of heavy hitters so I think he holds himself quite well.
I agree with the statement that he is naive and also that he has to grow. Its disappointing to me that it was apparently just Koby sent to get Boa who is very strong, like take out 2 of Blackbeard's captains and entire army strong. I'm kinda lost on the match-up, especially if Koby is that naive- which Boa preys upon voraciously. Its kinda tough for me to just look at this piece and take it at face value when the characters have their own hierarchy within the verse.
I do not think that Garp leaves this place alive.
With the final page, the giant hand waiting above the ship to smash it and then Garp on the ground saying that justice will prevail, I'm expecting 2 things to happen:
-
A cliffhanger and a different location next chapter, just to be cruel to the reader.
-
Someone will intervene. Could be Marines sending reinforcements, as they know where Garp went, could be SWORD people, could also be Blackbeard coming home and ending the fighting, taking all Marines prisoner and delaying further events. But with the last page showing so obviously what is going to happen next, I'm expecting exactly these obvious things will not happen. It would be boring to just continue straight forward like that.
So there are options where Garp will survive (for now).
I have feeling Aokiji will help.
I am almost a 100% sure they will be saved somehow. Either another marine drops by and intervenes (smoker?), Gap will get up or ajoki will save them with the argument that they are worth more alive than dead. Keep in mind that garps status and fame is quite important to the marines and by some extent to the world government as it would be a big blow to their reputation if garp would be killed, so I think they could use them as bargaining chips and Blackbeard always has a bigger goal as he is quite cunning.
Looks like it's confirmed that Dragon is Garp's son now. It's pretty jarring to see Garp being hurt, but goes to show that BB's crew isn't a joke.
Koby really dropped the ball here, been kidnapped then causes fatal wound to his savior due to his stupidity.
I thought he’d have many experiences dealing with pirates at this points
This chapter mega slapped. Yo Garp is really built different different. From the restrictive training, taking a sneak stab through the torso, ganged up on, all while facing down his protege and STILL maintaining his cool and hope? Bravo Monkey, bravo.
