So long story short, for legitimate health reasons I can no longer have caffeinated anything. Pretty much anything above a decaf coffee or a chocolate bar is unsafe.

Ive been doing decaf for a year now and its been ok but I was wondering if any of the experts had any suggestions regarding brands, methods, ect. that youve found is best for improving the taste.

I reside in Canada if that makes any difference.

Thanks, people!

My favorite decaf is Hydrangea’s El Paraiso decaf. It’s an alt process but it’s not too funky. Very fruit forward. In Canada, hatch has a roast of the same coffee I think.

Rogue Wave’s current decaf offering is good for more traditional medium roast. Along the same lines I’ve enjoyed Mother Tongue’s decaf a lot. Onyx just put out a decaf version of their Geometry blend that sounds interesting but I haven’t tried it yet.

Re: method, if you’re brewing pour over, decaf poses certain challenges due to the brittleness of the beans leading to clogged drawdown. So you may need to grind coarsee or change how agitate to get the best results. (Onyx’s decaf brew guides are useful points of reference)

Zab from Montréal does some pretty good decafs! I've had their roast called Kamala, it's quite good if you're into fruity, raspberry notes :)

Just got some of this in and made an iced pourover. Haven't dialed it in yet, but it's pretty good anyway

I've been looking for one as well... tried illy decaf and it's horrible -- the coffee taste like burnt charcoal water heard good things about Cafune but haven't tried it myself, gonna order one in a week or two after I clear out some space in my bean drawer :p

Had exactly the same experience with illy decaf. Terrible, tossed it out.

I can only drink caffeinated before 3 pm, so we stock a bag of decaf of this.

Great tasting coffee and an amazing business owner too, constantly helping out people in need our community, so you can feel good about who you're buying it from. We also love all the other regular varieties.

My favorite decaf is Dek by lavazza. I run it through my espresso machine (breville BE870xl) and it tastes fantastic... I had to cut back on caffeine because of blood pressure issues so I get it.
