It might. It will be better than the live action movie though.

a bar so low its on the floor
The bar is so low my infirm grandma could clear it.
My dead and buried grandma could clear it
Ask again later.
Had the movie not come out, no one would be excited for this, no one would care how "more faithful" it looks.
At the end of the day this adaptation has no reason to exist, and I have no expectation it'll be any good.
Hope I'm wrong, of course.
Yeah it's a "live action" of an 'anime'. There's really no way for it to exceed the original, and if it doesn't, it accomplishes nothing.
But Disney and everyone else will keep pushing live actions because they're low risk, most fans will watch out of curiosity.
It's deviating significantly from the original.
That alone will alienate the fandom.
The only thing that could save it would by being significantly better than the original....which isn't likely at all.
Nothing is going to live up to the hype of any proper sequel.
When you are swooning like this the answer is no. Nothing is going to be good enough.
I dont see a hype for the announced sequels anywhere though?
Maybe
No
Who knows
I don't know!
Yes.
