A favorite part of mountain lake camping is finding a creek to chill your packed warm beers in. 30° outside but they’re icy and cold by the time you’ve set up camp and started a fire. Not a European but I used Celsius, so I hope you don’t mind.

Edit: WARNING: make sure to keep the lids out of the water so you don’t accidentally get sick

Chest freezer for hunted venison, turkey, and sometimes bear.

Which European country are you from? Romania, to have bear?

[–] WhiteOakBayou@lemmy.world 15 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Probably not from Europe if they are hunting turkeys. I think they are a new world bird

[–] Blaze@discuss.online 6 points 9 months ago

That would make sense indeed

Sorry, I didn’t even realize what magazine this was. The article sucked me right in.

French peep in Germany here, we share a fridge for wine and beer with my partner

The smaller fridge in the kitchen is mostly cheese and sausage

I have an empty fridge

I used to have a freezer dedicated to dead animals (mice, rats, chicks, pinkies etc) back when I kept snakes as pets.

Beer fridge is the normal fridge, regular fridge is the special fridge.

Older houses here in Sweden have/had a cool (but not cold) well ventilated pantry to store fruit and root vegetables and pickled/preserved pantry items that fare better out of the fridge or room temperature. It used to be called “sval” or “svalskåp”, with temperatures pretty much like a wine cooler. I want one of those. I don’t want a wine cooler, however.

Not European, but I share a border with two of your countries. We also have beer fridges.

Canada, with Saint-Pierre et Miquelon and the Danish Isles?

[–] Tarkcanis@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago

Ding ding ding!

I'm planning on getting a small dedicated fridge to store my cannabis and seeds. Much better for long term storage.

The garage fridge. It's where you keep soda, beer, and frozen junk food.

[–] Blaze@discuss.online 1 points 9 months ago (2 children)

Interesting, which European country are you from?
