Maybe an unpopular opinion but having a name for a Lemmy user is cringe.
What are you gonna ask someone at a party if they're a lemming? They're gonna look at you like wtf are you talking about.
It has big "the narwhal bacons at midnight" vibes.

I usually like to use a person's name.
For Lemmy users specifically, I believe Lemmings has been widely accepted. However, when referring to a user of federated software in general (remember they can potentially communicate with other federated software), we could refer to each other as "Fedizens" of the "Fediverse". I have seen a developer use the term "Fedizen" in one of their code examples, and I like it as a more inclusive name.

You know it's been about a decade before I have had a solid excuse to get someone with that. It's one of the first great pranks I stumbled across on reddit. Seems fitting.
