Wonder why he picked the Newstead one and not his local?

I hope he doesn’t become a poster child for this now.

Well, he doesn't want to ruin the Woolies he actually shops at. That would inconvenience him.

It's not a controversy, don't validate this dog sneeze masquerading as a man. It's a violent cunt throwing a tantrum because his critical thinking skills are on par with a koala

Of all the things going on, to choose this to get fired up about, and then be stupid enough to be identified and charged for it, is wild.

No article says what the merchandise is, that they are not selling.

Does anyone know?

Cheap chinese-made flags of Australia. That people weren't buying anyway.

It's the oddest situation this whole boycott Woolworths thing. Years of Woolworths and Coles shafting customers with their duopoly thing and it's the inability to buy some cheap junk with an Australian flag poorly printed on it that suddenly has everyone up in arms.

Here's Carrick Ryan's take on it. I do enjoy his commentary.

Ironically, you can buy flags in the store year-round. The Australia Day merch is more green & gold face paints, Australian flag cups, little kids tattoos etc. Not enough people are buying the junk, so they took it off the shelves.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Police have arrested and charged a man who allegedly vandalised a Brisbane Woolworths store with graffiti, and set a flare off under the door.

The Woolworths Metro Teneriffe store on Commercial Road was closed on Monday morning, and residents in the apartment building were evacuated.

Police will allege around 5am, the man set off a flare at the business, causing the fire alarm to be activated.

The graffiti read "5 days 26 Jan Aussie Oi Oi Woolies F*** U", and the words "Boycott Woolies" was spray painted on the entrance doors.

It comes after the Woolworths Group announced stores would not stock specific Australia Day merchandise, saying there had been a gradual decline in demand in recent years.

The announcement prompted federal Opposition leader Peter Dutton to call for Australians to "boycott Woolworths" over the decision to not sell the products
