Hitech Grand Prix has confirmed that it has submitted an application to the FIA to join the Formula 1 grid in 2026. (...) Hitech, which has a successful set up in the junior categories, confirmed on Monday that it has submitted a bid to establish its own squad.

Hitech was never on my list of entities I expected to join F1. I hope this will not fizzle out, though realistically I suspect this will be just another US F1/Stefan GP.

If the existing teams won't let Andretti Autosport join the grid, I can't imagine Hitech getting traction -- and if they did it'd make the Andretti snub even more insulting.

If they won’t let Andretti in I don’t think they should let anyone in as a new team.
