Woa, buddy, that's the same thing as hating freedom.

[–] yessikg@lemmy.blahaj.zone 51 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Hilarious that America and Freedom are one choice, sorry peeps but America != Freedom

[–] Transporter_Room_3@startrek.website 30 points 10 months ago

Yes you have correctly summed up why that option is funny.

[–] Jumuta@sh.itjust.works 21 points 10 months ago (1 children)

america is divided by the concept of freedom

that's what the slash means

b-but...its called united so it must be true

[–] uriel238@lemmy.blahaj.zone 46 points 10 months ago (3 children)

The United States willfully and knowingly deceived and betrayed me when I was a child. Its promise of liberty is false when our choice is between bonded servitude and starvation.

Jews and Muslims exist that recognize the personhood of everyone (despite objections from their respective holy texts) whereas the US federal state and the sate regimes specify those peoples they do not recognize.

When the United States empire collapses, I will not grieve.

The revolution was a mistake.

[–] MindSkipperBro12@lemmy.world 2 points 10 months ago (2 children)

Say, how did the American Empire deceive and betray you?

[–] uriel238@lemmy.blahaj.zone 5 points 10 months ago

Actually quite a lot of ways. I was taught the American Exceptionalism propaganda package as a credulous kid as with the rest of my peers. But my teachers knew they were prepping my class to be replaceable, disposable laborers and soldiers in American industry in which hard work and loyalty are practically meaningless, and social safety nets from FDR's New Deal and LBJ's Great Society were being dismantled. My teachers were obligated by the Los Angeles School District and California Education Department to adhere to these myths as if they were truth. I was taught that the United States and California were run by public-serving governments, even though the two party system was known to be flawed since the late 19th century, and we were watching as the Reagan administration was providing access to lobbyists and soft money, shutting out the constituencies. Even then, the move towards autocracy that would inform the George W. Bush years and set up Trump and the white power movement was moving forward in the eighties, and this wasn't being covered in intermediate or high-school American Government.

Then there's the myth that rule of law exists in the US, that our courts are governed by Blackstone's Ratio, that law enforcement is about serving the public.

It was all shit when I was in grade school, and my parents, teachers and ministers knew this and kept us in the dark about it, perpetuating the same lies that Pete Seeger observed in the 1960s.

I'll just choose puppies. That way everyone hates me and not just 1 group. Fuck if I care. I'm about to be a millionaire.

[–] cupcakezealot@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 10 months ago (1 children)

[–] Kolanaki@yiffit.net 11 points 10 months ago

Ah, Zach Star Himself

Love this guy. Idk how he manages to put out such consistent bangers

[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 5 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Amazing how this guy do serious and informative maths videos and on the side high quality sketches.

[–] BluJay320@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago) (1 children)

I know, I only found his informative videos months after watching his sketches. One of them just popped up in my recommended, and I heard his voice and was like

“No way this is Zach”

And then I look at the channel name, and my mind imploded

[–] driving_crooner@lemmy.eco.br 4 points 10 months ago (1 children)

I've been subscribed by his math youtube channel for more than 5 years and he started the sketches on that channel, with jokes about math vs engineering professors/students until he finally decided to move the non serious stuff to an exclusive channel and they were never recommended to me until this one and another with an actual funny non discriminatory trans joke.

[–] BluJay320@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 10 months ago

Definitely check out his airport security skit, that one’s my favorite

It’s a YouTube creator. I can’t find the video right now, but it’s kinda lame that OP didn't source it. It’s a funny video.

[–] TheEntity@kbin.social 4 points 10 months ago (3 children)
[–] remotelove@lemmy.ca 2 points 10 months ago* (last edited 10 months ago)

He is a creator that creates creations. Duh.

[–] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Vijiaz

I haaaate the word connnnteeeeent

[–] TheEntity@kbin.social 2 points 10 months ago (1 children)

Same here. Both "content" and "creator". It's so vague it means nothing at all.

[–] Rai@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 10 months ago

Yehhh. I don’t mind Creator in the context of YouTube, because the existence of the site implies it’s gonna be videos.

I DO like to get more specific when the creator makes stuff I feel is worthy of more respect than “INNONET VIJIA”, like HBomberGuy creates Video Essays (and raises a third of a mil for a trans charity, that unbelievably based bastard) or Frederick Knudsen (sp?) who creates in-depth documentaries.

[–] someguy3@lemmy.world 1 points 10 months ago

Of the tubes man.

[–] notaviking@lemmy.world 8 points 10 months ago (1 children)

There is no right way to answer this, either way you are going to offend a certain group. You will be dumb and crucified if you choose any choice even if you mean it as a joke, so clearly my answer is B

[–] Titou@feddit.de 1 points 10 months ago

Lmao, people from the US aren't from their lands so how are you going to offend them ?

[–] lseif@sopuli.xyz 7 points 10 months ago

definitely not D

[–] SomeoneWhoIsntMe@lemmy.world 3 points 10 months ago

Puppies: I prefer bats by a large margin /s

[–] FunkyMonk@kbin.social 3 points 10 months ago

I will leave this one to the audience.
