@OpenSource @foss It would be great if we had a LineageOS/GrapheneOS image that would be similar to Linux distros where they could be installed on any Android phone and it would auto download/install all the drivers needed for the phone to be fully functional. I really hope there is some work being done on this in the background.

That's in parts what is happening with #plasmamobile

And since Android is gradually closing its source, that's probably the way top go anyway

@ISOmorph I have not heard of plasma mobile. Can you suggest any links for videos or some write-up on plasma mobile that I can use to get myself familiar with it. Also, I would like to support this effort anyway I can. Thanks

It's basically Linux/KDE for mobile devices. I can't suggest any ressource in particular beyond what duckduckgo will tell you.

so a Generic System Image rom? afaik that's what they do, but I think the phone has to support it, and there is something to do with "Treble". I don't know too much about it though

GrapheneOS can be installed on any phone if the manufacturer wants to do so.

@LordChaos82 @OpenSource @foss Linux distros have a seperate image for each phone usually. (At least with PostmarketOS)

@QuadRadical @OpenSource @foss I use an Android phone made by a Chinese company via Kickstarter called Unihertz Tank. The phone has a 22k mAh battery that works perfectly for my lifestyle. I doubt I can find a degoogled OS for this phone :(
I have disabled all google services & use Fdroid for apps. I would love to use an OS that is privacy oriented like LineageOS or GrapheneOS. I would love to try Linux on the phone provided it is stable as most of my work is dependent on me being available.
