That's fantastic!
It really is. They are an incredibly impactful keystone species
I like how they seemingly took one look at Russia and went 'yeah, let's not go over there..".
They even respect the border with the old Russian Alaska.
There always have been beavers in France, but they were almost instinct at some point, and I think it was the very first protected species of the country, back in early 1900s.

Wait there are beavers in Mexico? I thought they didn’t even come below Michigan
They were also introduced to Argentina and Chile
Is that bad for the existing ecosystem?
Probably. The idea was they could be used to start a local fur trade. Turns out the quality of furs is closely tied to how cold it gets. And South American beavers don't have as thick of furs. So the furs weren't worth much and that fur trade never caught on.
