Like the cat would bother asking

The cat lets you sleep in the bed with them

if you're lucky

One of mine would sleep on my head like a hat when I was a kid. My first cat as an adult would spend the entire night in the crook of my arm and spend the daytime next to me at my desk while I was studying

I have 2 cats, one will sleep cudling my head and the other slees in my legs. I can not move the whole night! 10/10 recomend!

[–] I_Fart_Glitter@lemmy.world 6 points 9 months ago

The bend behind my knees is known as her "snuggle nook."

I have two Bengals. They always follow me everywhere in the house, but always stay at an arm's length. They only like to be touched when it's bed time. Those bastards. ❤️

If they would sleep, I’d consider it. They just run all over the place and scream at me for attention.

[–] Swedneck@discuss.tchncs.de 2 points 9 months ago

that sounds like a you problem

[–] Zehzin@lemmy.world 21 points 9 months ago (1 children)

If the cat chooses to bless me with 2am cuddle, who am I to judge?

[–] echodot@feddit.uk 15 points 9 months ago (2 children)

All mine ever wants to do is sit on my neck and then put her foot in my eye. She then purs loudly as if this is the most wonderful thing.

You are so blessed

I didn't realize it was an option.

Our cat of 19 years who just passed spent near every from too young to eat food to the equivalent of cat 92 either sleeping like a person often with his head on the edge of the pillow beside my wife or cuddled up to my legs. Even when I used to work nights and fall asleep on the couch he'd come and lay with me even though I moved around a LOT we'd constantly rotate with him at some weird angle.

[–] ZombieMantis@lemmy.world 17 points 9 months ago

Frankly, it's the cat's bed. I'm just sleeping in it.

[–] AFaithfulNihilist@lemmy.world 17 points 9 months ago (1 children)

My girlfriend decided we needed a bigger bed. It doesn't matter. Every night we go to sleep with the cat snugly by my hip and by morning the cat takes up half of the bed and we are in the corner against the wall. I don't even know how it happens.

[–] Rakonat@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

Its the pet rule. Not matter the size if the animal, they will expand in the night to take all the coziness for themselves.

Reality is that the bed warms up while you sleep. Dogs and cats curl up to sleep to keep warm, so once the mattress is warmed up by your bodyheat, cat or dog doesn't need to curl up and instead sprawls out to find that equilibrium of warmth. So while the pet is probably very comfy to stretch out and take all the space, they might also be overheating some and trying to stay cool yet cozy. But they will absolutely try to shuffle you around every few hours if they can to take the warm spot you made.

My dog sleeps next to me completely under the covers every night.

Sometimes I wake to him doing that shake thing dogs do, and him waiting for me to lift the covers so he can burrow back under.

[–] cole@lemdro.id 3 points 9 months ago (1 children)

how do you deal with the fur. my dogs shed so much

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago

It's manageable enough, and it encourages me to wash them regularly. Plus, I don't sleep on his side.

[–] Nacktmull@lemm.ee 10 points 9 months ago* (last edited 9 months ago) (2 children)

If I don´t find my cat cuddled up between my feet when I wake up, that´s just not a good start of the day.

[–] Madison420@lemmy.world 3 points 9 months ago

Same but they rotate. One sleeps between my legs the other sits on my arm and chest, then when I wake up arm cat goes to stake out the food bowl and leg cat moves to arm until I get out of bed.

[–] PeWu@lemmy.ml 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Damn. Now I want a cat 😺

[–] Nacktmull@lemm.ee 2 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Great, just remember to adopt, not buy! :)

[–] EvolvedTurtle@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Honestly Depending where you live you can just hang out in your backyard for an hour and find one lol

[–] Nacktmull@lemm.ee 1 points 9 months ago

That is just one more reason to adopt, not buy, if you ask me.

[–] RebekahWSD@lemmy.world 8 points 9 months ago

My girl cat loves to crawl under my blanket and curl up next to me for a time. Then she'll leave after a bit and when she comes back, she'll sleep next to my face. Sometimes she goes directly to sleeping next to my face. She'd never ask to drive the car though, the car is for humans to use to bring her items, why would she use it? No need to get her own items, we do it for her!

[–] kool_newt@lemm.ee 5 points 9 months ago

Apparently they've never heard the tale of Toonces the Driving Cat.

[–] Everythingispenguins@lemmy.world 4 points 9 months ago (1 children)

Shit I ask them to go to the store for me.

[–] EvolvedTurtle@lemmy.world 1 points 9 months ago

I ask mine to go to work for me Haven't had any luck tho

[–] CaptKoala@lemmy.ml 4 points 9 months ago

They'd probably drive better than most people these days tbh...

Friend: you let your cats sleep in the bed with you?

Me: I'd let my cats borrow the car if they wanted to.
