We may be anonymous strangers on the internet, but we have one thing in common. We may be a world apart, but we’re here together!

Welcome to the 24 hour pledge! I’m pledging myself to not drinking today, and invite you to do the same.

Maybe you’re new to c/stopdrinking and have a hard time deciding what to do next. Maybe you’re like me and feel you need a daily commitment or maybe you’ve been sober for a long time and want to inspire others.

It doesn’t matter if you’re still hung over from a three day bender or been sober for years, if you just woke up or have already completed a sober day. For the next 24 hours, let’s not drink alcohol!

Had to reset my counter again after getting weepy drunk last night and lashing out at my best friend for reasons I can't remember. I can't seem to control myself lately and I'm out of ideas. Depression is a bitch. Sorry for the rant but I needed to vent and no one is awake around here yet.

Hang in there buddy. This 24 hours is a new 24 hours. Dont let the past keep you from doing what you should do today.

thank you for helping to remember that feeling... i had at least 100 resets, for years and years. I made sure to try something new each time though so that even if i failed again i learned something. Many times i felt like there can't possibly be something new to try anymore, but there always was... zoom meeting really help me fell less lonely even though i rarely speak in them and refuse to do any 12 step work as I have all the power in the world over alcohol as long as i don't put it in my mouth. And that's a choice i make everyday.

The days you didn't drink were not lost. Focus on today.
