Apologies if this is the wrong place to ask this question. Using the upload image button and selecting my mp4 brings up an error red box mentioning something isn't a valid json token. Mastodon communities already make it possible to upload short clips. Would I just link to a Mastodon post?

I would like to gather ideas for those that might want to post small video clips to start discussions. Trying to avoid bloated websites like YouTube for uploading a small 1 min clip.

See the docs here

You can upload images and gifs directly, but videos with audio will have to be linked. Not sure if and how actual embedded videos will work.

For now the best course of action is just uploading it somewhere else and linking to it. (Correct me if I'm wrong please)

Thank you for the link, I missed that entire bottom part of the doc. Do you think grabbing the direct video link uploaded from mastadon.social would be okay to post?

I don't see why not 😄

Play around a bit and see what works best.
