I'm frankly just grateful we haven't broken Lemmy.
What was once a "consolation prize" (Lemmy) is quickly rekindling my joy in this type of a site. I haven't felt this giddy since opening a reddit account in like 2011.

Same, dude, same. I was on reddit for a long time so the spark kinda died for me awhile ago.
Lemmy has been a nice refresher, so far.
Reddit's final hug of death: the exodus.
There are over 2k people on just this instance right now. Every minute that goes by is a new record for the maximum number of users Lemmy has ever had. Ruud keeps scaling the instance server, but we are pushing thing up quickly.
I like those numbers in the hopes this place takes off.
The hamster must be running extra fast in his wheel to keep this place up and running lol
Good good, not just me shitting my pants Iβd stuffed up somehow.
Also, whatβs the @ in front of some usernames and not others?
The @ means they're account is on a different lemmy instance. You will see an @ next to my name because mine was made on lemmy.ca. The ones you don't see it for are those who created theirs on the same instance (lemmy.world)
Afaik the @ appears when the user is in another instance. I'm from lemmy.one so you should see an @ if we're not both using lemmy.one as an instance.
When that happens it is usually due to the servers being overloaded. Take lemmy.ml, which has been overloaded due to the huge influx of new people
I've noticed that too.
