It's a travesty is what it is

A travesty sandwich, you say?

This reminds me that someone needs to create a ThanksIHateIt on lemmy

Technically yes but then you'd be a pedantic little shit for insisting so.

Dictionary entry for sandwich is " two pieces of bread with food such as cheese, salad, or meat between them " and I see two very thick crust slices with food such as cheese salad or meat between them.

I am going to say yes and make this my hill to die on!

Not sure, but does it meet the any legal definitions of a sandwich anywhere — as in it can be advertised or sold as a sandwich?

Imagine being taken to court over a sandwich.

A sandwich for Pac-Man, obviously.

Sure but not a good one.

OPs mom might be able to get her mouth around it though 😋

Can't hold it in one hand while playing cards with the other, ergo not a sandwich.

Sure it's a sandwich but I don't like sandwiches too tall to fit in my mouth.

if you define sandwich as "food, where there is some filling between two thin slices of bread", than it is not a sandwich. This is more of a burger, than sandwich.

I don't think this qualifies as a burger. My understanding is burgers are ground meat patties on a bun, this appears to me to be a standard sandwich made with two very thick crust slices.
