DJT is obviously guilty of a bunch of crimes.

Where in the US can you still find a jury without a single Trumpster on it though? It's sad that getting away with everything he has is possible, but I don't see him ever facing consequences.

Smith made the interesting choice to go through Miami rather than DC. One of the guesses is that filing in such a pro Trump jurisdiction will eliminate many of the stalling tactics and under cut claims of bias. So far Smith seems to be closing the loop holes.

Well, I'd like to see ol Donny Trump wriggle his way out of THIS jam!
*Trump wriggles his way out of the jam easily. Ah! Well. Nevertheless,

He's not wriggling out of this. Dude tried to overthrow the government, they're going to hit him with everything they can legally prove. I know a lot of people are disillusioned with the system because the wheel of justice has been grinding slowly but it has also been grinding thoroughly. Motherfucker is going to be 00 flour by the time they're done with him.

Edit: That's if he doesn't commit suicide. I'd bet my bottom dollar he'd rather off himself than face the consequences of his actions, especially at his age. Too many bone spurs in his spine.

Would I love to see him put in handcuffs on live TV? Yes.

Do I think it will ever happen? No. Literally everything has been "This is the one" and it never is.

I'm optimistic that the DOJ will do...anything, I guess. But im realistic at this point that he will never face any actual consequences over what he's done.

[–] someRandomRedneck@beehaw.org 3 points 1 year ago

That's along the lines of what people said in response to me claiming since about two years ago that he'd be charged with anything at all before the next general election and yet here we are. You're not being realistic, you're being pessimistic. The shithead fucked with the system, they're going to make sure he can't hold a public office again and even republicans that are upholding their public facade of support are chomping at the bit behind closed doors for his conviction.

Teflon Don may not suffer all of the consequences. He is suffering some. Much more importantly, is that enough of the enablers, supporters and followers are suffering their own consequences. He could not, and did not, do anything alone. The DoJ Trump may never get Trump. However, the process is grinding a whole lot of the enablers down.

Lol OK, people like you thought he wouldn't be charged at all.

What are "people like you" exactly?

He's just not going to face any consequences for his actions because he is part of the class which owns this country. Being charged means nothing, he will never see the inside of a cell

[–] someRandomRedneck@beehaw.org 3 points 1 year ago (1 children)

"People like you" being the pessimistic people that think nothing will happen. Thing is, he's not a part of the class that owns this country, he's just a fucking larper in that regard and the dipshit fucked with the class that actually owns this country. Being in an American cell ain't shit, that ain't what concerns him cause he could continue doing most of the same ol' bullshit from a prison cell. What concerns him is losing grasp of the illusion of power he has and that's exactly what's happening. Motherfucker tried to reach beyond his station and the powers that be are going to put him in his damn place.

“People like you” being the pessimistic people that think nothing will happen.

Charlie brown be like "why are you being so pessimistic she's really holding the football this time"

[–] someRandomRedneck@beehaw.org 2 points 1 year ago

I'm sure that sounded clever in your head but Lucy never fucked with the people actually in charge of this country.

Real pathological narcissists can never commit suicide. They’re too cowardly.

I'm still not holding my breath on this, but please, please, please let's have some actual consequences for these people. Nobody should be above the law.
