I made this froggy coat out of old woollen blankets that i dyed green and a sheet for the lining (beehaw.org)

Sorry I don't want to come off as spammy but I also want us to have lots of fun content so more people feel encouraged to share 🥰 I could look at garden and crafty posts all day.

I wanted to give this coat a slouchy old plushtoy feel so i undersised the lining and edged it in a blanket stitch. I'm really happy with it and I wear it all the time

****noooo the cursed horizontal formatting is back! The pictures are vertical in my phone. I resaved them and double checked

**** okay i resaved them all with a 3rd party app. This is the way. Someone pleSe fix how jerboa reads photo orientation.

This is amazing! Even viewed side on haha.

The blanket stitch absolutely makes it, it just looks so cozy and snuggly and maybe it's just because I'm really cold right now but I'm super jealous.

p.s. post as many projects as you want, imma do the same later, we'll probably get kicked off into a more specific craft sub at some point but whatever 😅

Honestly I'm not the type to want a community just for the sake of mod powah but I also don't know whether it's more of a hindrance or a help to be making separate ones at this point? I have another Lemmy account on an instance that allows us to make new ones so I could set up, say "fiber crafts" or something (still general but a bit more specific at least) but no idea if that would be a good thing to do!

Oh yeah nah i don't want to be a mod, that's too much responsibility, i just want this space to grow enough the content has to be sorted. Right now separate spaces wouldn't make sense.

Nah right now this is the way. Most crafty people like to look at other crafts even if they aren't interested in doing them themselves so until we have so much of certain content It's drowning out others, we should all just post here

99% of the fabrics I use are from the dump so sometimes I'm dying or patching things to make them work for me a bit more 😁 it makes it all feel extra special when I'm done like each tells a little story.

this is pretty heckin sweet - I like how the sleeves ended up all wrinkley, definitely gives it that old worn velveteen rabbit vibe.
