I'm okay with the story. Just wish you'd have linked to the original article and not through Apple's redirect. Those redirects obscure the sources giving a tabloid headline the same weight as one from a reputable source.

The two sons, described in court papers by their mother as “parasites,” had been living in the family apartment without contributing financially or helping around the house, according to the complaint filed by the woman, who has not been named, in a the Tribunal of Pavia district court. Both men are employed, the court documents state.
Sounds completely reasonable to evict them. I'm surprised it was this difficult.
Eviction in people who have resided somewhere for a long time can be a pain in the ass to get them out.
Mainly because there is often no kind of agreement that has been violated even if it sounds like obviously wrong to someone outside.
How does the court know the mother didn't tell them they could live there for free? The court would make them homeless and need solid reasons to do so.
Clearly that existed in this case, but forcing someone to movie is a huge deal and why it is so hard to do.

If they would have paid her a little rent, they probably could have stayed. Now they're going to pay more rent in another location. Be good to your moms.
Couldn't help around the house but could apparently hire lawyers to fight for their right to continue not helping.
People will work really hard to not do normal work.

This is not the first time “mammoni,” 🤌 an Italian term used to describe adult men who are too dependent on their mothers, has cropped up in the legal system.
I've known a couple of "mammoni" myself over the years. I can't imagine being middle aged and living with my mom or my parents.

Living with and not paying an equal share of the food/utilities/etc : yeah that’s a big problem
It's of course up to the individuals what they want but barring certain extent situations (caring for the parent, divorce, loss of job, etc). Don't you you should be out of your parent's house by your 40s?
