I might as well be the first nay-sayer - I can't stand them.

I agree
Usually not a fan, but every now and then I find a nice one (usually home made), and then next time I grab one with hope I am disappointed.
Same. Mostly texture of them, but the smell of the pastry too.
Kinda liked these ones I had sometimes as a kid, in a flaky pastry & flat, with a different mince.
I'm not a fan of cooked fruit and mince pies tend to fall into that category.
Only good thing about the commercialisation of Christmas is all xmas food available for months before.
My Dad was very pleased when they started making hot cross buns all year round.
Except Sainsbury's still haven't got their Christmas party food out (it's the only time of year they sell Jalapeño Poppers)
What an odd thing to associate with Christmas haha. You'd think they bring them out in summer.
I've not seen them in any supermarkets except over Christmas. You can get them from various takeaway places though! The closest I've seen in supermarkets the rest of the year are some Goose Island chili cheese bites (I think they're called), which are quite nice but not the same thing.
I wonder what marketing person decided, you know what Christmas needs, Jalapeño poppers next to the sprouts.
I thought Sainsbury's were some of the better ones. I tested quite a few last year.
For research purposes you understand.
There's just the matter of the tub of Celebrations and the tub of Quality Street (apart from the yucky strawberry creme ones) that were bought for Christmas, but have since been troughed.
fuck sprouts. no surrender
You'll find no argument from me here. I love mince pies, but so far, I've been quite good and resisted them.
My real weakness is the soft gingerbread cookies half covered in dark chocolate from Aldi. I think their proper name is Lebkruchen soft gingerbread. The problem is, that there are about 6-8 in a pack, so it's not a case of a cookie now and then, it's the whole pack at once. I think they're in-store already.
