There's not much going on here. It's like 85% me posting articles/inspo albums, 15% dudes asking "does this look good?"

What do you want to see?

  • Do you want to see more people post articles? Or write guides here?
  • Do you want to see more people post inspo albums? Or a monthly inspo megathread?
  • Do you want to see, like, a monthly stickied megathread for questions so you don't have to post a new thread every time? I don't know if that's possible, or if this community has any active mods. I'm not a mod here, I don't really want to be, I'm just trying to see the fediverse thrive a bit.
  • Do you want to see a megathread for fit pics? Or should there be a whole other community for fit pics? Would anybody post there, if there were such a community?
  • Do you want to do megathreads like this series from Reddit asking people their favorite X at Y price point?
  • Do you want to see people post about sales and deals?

Again, I'm not a mod. I'm just kind of checking in and starting a meta discussion because I think it might help.

I enjoy reading the articles. I think combining r/frugalmalefashion and r/malefashionadvice scopes would make sense for now, so I'd welcome deals, reviews, etc.

I feel like this post didn't get federated properly to Lemmy. If any lemmy users want to repost it, that'd be cool...

I can see it just fine from lemm.ee

ah, I was looking at https://lemmy.world/c/malefashionadvice (not my home server), and it wasn't showing up, but it just appeared out of nowhere. Not sure what happened, but glad to see it's working now.

I think posting existing articles would be a cost effective way of gaining exposure and generating interest and activity. Once there are more eyes on the community, megathreads will make more sense and people will want to post their own content.

cost-effective? what cost?

The time and energy one spends on it.

I’ve only posted once, but I’ll try to post twice a month. I think articles are the best content, but I’m open to seeing people asking for advice, sales, etc.

There are all sorts of forums, so I understand this place won’t take off until the content attracts more people. I appreciate you trying to make this place more habitable.
