This is an upper estimate I think, read the linked thread for more info. Technically their pure ad revenue is lower, but they make a lot of money with other similar kinds of manipulation.

That's an average, it doesn't mean they made $207 from me, it means that the average bookface user nets them 200 bucks. Considering that i aggressively block their stuff and avoid their site they're not making money off me, or at least not directly.

Still yeah, the moment you think you're immune to ads and propaganda is the moment you're most vulnerable.

My usage of the word “ads” includes manipulating the timeline to serve you misinformation or information any paying entity wants you to believe.

So, in fact, this is a) not my definition of ads 'working' when I know this is happening and do not believe anything I reas on manipulative social media, and b) I don't even use facebook, so ads do not work on me.

@Erik@social.uden.ai isn't it pretentious, thinking that everyone is like everyone else?
