Wow, he is waiting so long? How about tomorrow?

Probably a big bonus waiting for him if he gets to 12 more months

Everyone is probably sad for him so they will be keen to see he gets a golden handshake too as befits a member of the ruling elite. Never mind the reputation damage.

All the execs will take golden parachutes to "restore trust" but the actual fucking over of people already happened, and strangely enough, they're not actually sorting any of that out.

So a few execs will be culled and then Qantas the company can sail off into the sunset, absolved of any responsibility.

You enabled Joyce and all the bullshit including illegal sackings.

You have acknowledged you should fuck off so don’t try and smooth the reputation damage out by going in a year.

Fuck off.

Now.

It's standard practice.

  • You have the people that run the place into the ground

  • Then you get the people who do a lot of cleaning up the shit

  • Then you have the saviours come in and lead you back to the promised land, once all the goldfish have forgotten everything

This is the best summary I could come up with:

Mr Goyder has been under increasing pressure to resign from the airline, following the premature departure of controversial former chief executive Alan Joyce in early September.

"As a board, we acknowledge the significant reputation and customer service issues facing the group and recognise that accountability is required to restore trust," Mr Goyder said in a statement on Wednesday.

They include the new Qantas chief executive and managing director Vanessa Hudson, Dr Heather Smith and Doug Parker.

However, the Transport Workers' Union has criticised the announcement, saying Mr Goyder is attempting "to retire in dignity after presiding over illegal conduct," and new CEO Vanessa Hudson should be excluded from the board.

"This announcement is an attempt by Goyder to leave in a dignified manner with another year's pay in his pocket, after presiding over the largest case of illegal sackings in Australian history," Mr Kaine said.

Measured and orderly succession at board level will support the important work underway led by Vanessa and her new management team.
