I remember hearing EA Sports, it's in the game, and being hype... I don't know what the games say anymore because I don't play them anymore.

I hate to be the advocate of EA here but I'm convinced it's because FIFA is not allowing them to use the trademark any longer and the mentioned loopholes are either permitted by FIFA or will be closed soon.

Nothing to do with previous titles. You could still purchase them. This is EA locking you into playing the current version of the game. Some people like the mechanics of the older games and don't want to have to pay these games that are more store front than actual game.

You could still purchase them.

Licensed stuff in games expires all the time, leading to them being delisted. Usually licensed music, though.

True. This might be that. I just have trust issues with EA.

This is the best summary I could come up with:

The move, which was first spotted by analyst MauroNL, comes just two days before the upcoming EA Sports FC 24 is set to release.

FC 24 will be the first iteration of EA’s annual soccer video game to lack the FIFA branding.

EA officially parted ways with FIFA last year after CEO Andrew Wilson indicated that he was dissatisfied with the partnership in a leaked internal meeting.

Since the split, EA has inked a number of additional partnerships, including a multiyear deal with Spain’s LaLiga.

It launched a mobile game called AI League in April of this year in partnership with the studio Altered State Machine.

The title is purported to be part of an upcoming “portfolio of new future-focused Web 3.0 games” tied to the federation.

Just so you know, it still says EA SPORTS: It’s in the game when you boot up EAFC24.

It’s just possible to skip it.

Thank you for this.
