Will the game pick up updates if you bypass Steam and the Larian Launcher? (sh.itjust.works)

Basically title. I normally open the game using a shortcut directly to the .exe file, because I don't want to need two other programs open up every single time. Does anyone know if this will still pick up the updates, or do I need to open Steam and/or the Larian Launcher in order to pick those up?

1 of the 2 would need to open to get updates. Steam would do it in the background the smoothest I think

I've got the GOG version (not through Galaxy) and it doesn't look for updates on its own. You'll have to open Steam or Galaxy or something for it to check.

Probably have to sign into steam since they distribute the updates.

Also, love the username. Though i feel it should be TheLopensLeftArm

You can bypass the Larion Launcher by following these steps: -Right-click the game in your library and select Properties. -Look for the Launch Options field at the bottom of the General tab. -Add "--skip-launcher" and close the properties window. -Launch the game as normal. That way you don't need to go through the application directly
