I purchased squadron 42 now nearly a decade ago. That kind of delay warrants fraud. Robert space industries pricing model is exploitative and wrong.
Star Citizen
They are managerially incompetent.
when would the game come out of the wip state?
That's the neat part. It won't.
Never. Star Citizen is the definition of scope creep. And instead of adding things in as they go along like any other live service game, they want to get it all in and right before "launching." Basically, the "Alpha" is a clumsy live service game.
That is how the game will always be, imo. The fact that it is an experimental playground for devs to try random shit out and have people pay them for it, is something they take great pride in. I don't see it ever being finished.
Maybe after 9 more rounds of funding
At this point, the game's financial chart looks less like funding and more like an epic sci-fi stock market saga.
I bought my ship and within hours realized that this game is fraudulent. This game milks whales.
I jumped on again to see what new stuff came out and it’s just so bad. It’s 12 years old and the nav is still broken. A LOT is still broken and unreleased. How tf do they only have one solar system?
I also played SpaceBourne 2 and it is a million times better and was built by one guy. It has a galaxy and way better navigation that actually works. It’s only $14.99.
I think Starfields success will be Star Citizens demise. Whoever wants to get the class action started I am ready to sign.
Single player games like Starfield and SpaceBourne 2 don't really compete with MMOs like Star Citizen... if anything it would compete with Squadron 42.
I’m legit wondering at this point when the class action will begin. I have no skin in the game either way, but this looks like a scam.
Class action for what?
I guarantee CIG's legal team is better than whatever lawyer you can find to cook up a class action lawsuit over your buyer's regret because you failed to read the ToS and the EULA before you hit "I agree".
So, is this all people pledging money in exchange for packages like ships and stuff?
Yes. They release multiple new ships every year to keep the funding flowing, a large chunk of which are still not in game. They also have packages for $27k that let you "own" most of the ships in the game. Plus armors, skins, guns, multitools, and subscriptions.
And they just posted a $35 goodie pack of more undeveloped stuff. Lol
Its a scam.
