How long will it take for civilized countries to finally ban X?
Enough Musk Spam
For those that have had enough of the Elon Musk worship online.
No flaming, baiting, etc. This community is intended for those opposed to the influx of Elon Musk-related advertising online. Coming here to defend Musk or his companies will not get you banned, but it likely will result in downvotes. Please use the reporting feature if you see a rule violation.
Opinions from all sides of the political spectrum are welcome here. However, we kindly ask that off-topic political discussion be kept to a minimum, so as to focus on the goal of this sub. This community is minimally moderated, so discussion and the power of upvotes/downvotes are allowed, provided lemmy.world rules are not broken.
Post links to instances of obvious Elon Musk fanboy brigading in default subreddits, lemmy/kbin communities/instances, astroturfing from Tesla/SpaceX/etc., or any articles critical of Musk, his ideas, unrealistic promises and timelines, or the working conditions at his companies.
Tesla-specific discussion can be posted here as well as our sister community /c/RealTesla.
what's the play here? just being his usual dipshit self?
I think he might be getting ready to crack
A small correction:
I think he might be ~~getting ready to~~ already on crack
He just needs to feel important.
He's read too much Yarvin and other neo-reactionary/Dark Enlightenment nonsense.
When will someone finally assassinate him
What a chud.
He really needs to stop huffing his own farts and believing his own hype.
“I AM the hype!” -Elon, probably
Elon is this hard-working man his companies lokking for, right?
Tell me that you don't know how constitutional monarchy works without saying you don't know how constitutional monarchy works.
I honestly don't know how it works.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dissolution_of_the_Parliament_of_the_United_Kingdom
tl;dr: Dissolution of Parliament in the UK happens either at the end of a five year term, or when the Prime Minister initiates it. In the latter case, the PM "requests" that the Monarch authorizes a proclamation to dissolve Parliament.
The King can't unilaterally dissolve Parliament.
Legally, the King can exercise the royal prerogative unilaterally. However, it's widely thought that if he ever did so, Parliament would act quickly to remove the last of that power, so it's exercised on the advice of the Prime Minister as a matter of convention.
ETA: Apparently, it's debatable whether this also applies to dissolving Parliament, even though that's a prerogative power. See this article on the Royal Prerogative in the UK
You had one job
„We can't have Keir heading the country”
Where the fuck does he think he is?
What a garbage, click-baity headline. The article lists only like 5 of these supposed 23 tweets, doesn't provide links to go see them yourself, and none of them mention King Charles, or overthrowing the government. From what I read in text that IS there, "overthrowing the government" is entirely not what he's calling for, he's basically saying they should hold an election to oust the current parliament leadership.
This has to be one of the most jounalistically-bankrupt articles I've read in years.
No shade at OP for posting it, to be clear.
