"We've now gone on to basically solving the deficiencies in our social safety net through this horrific backdoor, not that anybody meant it that way, but that's what it's turned into," said David Lepofsky, disability advocate and Visiting Professor of Disability Rights at the Osgoode Hall Law School.

Serve the ruling class or die. Sad to see the impact capitalism continues to be allowed to have on our species and our planet.

"deaths of despair" is one of the most inhumane natures of this socioeconomic system. Her condition is an exacerbated version of this. People in this system are lead to not care about other people at all.

Bray said none of the doctors contacted her to learn about the efforts to help Denise find housing first. This is despite research showing that people with multiple chemical sensitivities often improve in chemically cleaner environments.

He heard about her plight last fall and attests to how hard Denise has tried to get a healthier home. But he’s seen her lose hope.

“Door after closed-door after closed-door...the gauntlet tends to push people in the direction of the legislation that is there, which is medical assistance and dying, " said Fancy, who has started a GoFundMe to try to help Denise find better accommodations. "I've got a very significant concern that this is the tip of the iceberg," he added.

If I may be allowed a George Carlin style pun... affordable housing is no way to go. I find that the best way to go is unaffordable housing. At least 3 stories high should do the trick. But nah! I'm going to be doing that! Heck no. I like mine to end interestingly. Not funny. Nobody like funny. Can't be laughing at the funeral of the guy who fell anus first on a fishing spear. Nah, I need something spectacular or serious. Hopefully something private but unrelated to my privates. Not cancer, Covid or AIDs hopefully. Maybe a brand new thing! I haven't heard of anyone going away after getting kicked out of reddit. That could be interesting and serious.
