Vile oily rag of a man. Australia has a large problem with Nazis, they're not hugely widespread but they're extremely bold and violent.

Unfortunately half of Parliament is highly sympathetic to them and if there's anything your average Aussie hates more than a Nazi it's any sort of leftist organising.

Tom Sewer is a terrorist, they just kinda suck at it.

That said, their shift in public rhetoric is noteworthy. They've always been this kind of mask-off behind closed doors (see antifascist leaks and the joint media investigation where someone infiltrated their group with cameras on) but IIRC they tactically saught to play the 'they started it' card, avoiding explicit violence unless hit first. "Optics", you know.

edit: Ah, that lovely loaded quote about protecting the children. It would be easier to take it seriously if there weren't at least two known loud-and-proud child marriage advocates in their ranks, and a member lurking playgrounds to put propaganda stickers in them (10:45). The NSN didn't earn the nickname "Groomerwaffen SS" for nothing.

This guy is like the Nazi ringleader in aus. He is a cunning little thing, very good at walking the line without ever crossing it.

For example, when he recently led a gang in attacking some people filming a group of the shits hiking he himself was careful not to actually get hugely involved in taking their car keys and attacking them. Only getting 7 days in gaol.

Sewell was in contact with the Christchurch mosque shooter too.

If there was any justice in the world he'd be cut off from using the internet or running social groups, but those are penalties we only levy against people holding climate rallys or sharing films.

More specifically, trying to recruit Tarrant to their organisation.

You're giving them too much credit. They've been found guilty (community service only) for attacking a security guard outside Channel 9 in 2021, was jailed for a month for the hiker incident and subsequently their org was raided, they've been beaten down by police in public on parliament steps (only after antifascists intentionally gave the police a premise to intervene) and if you want to count it, their lackeys attempted to attack a fundraiser armed with knives which would have certainly crossed lines if they weren't chased back up the street like the children they are.

What they're very good at is not being punished by the law or the cops. Sewer doesn't deserve credit for that.

You're right, in that it's the complicity of the cops and judiciary in allowing these sort of things to happen. However I do think Nazi ringleaders in general have a good understanding of both that the law is this way and how to manipulate the legal system.

Like they dress in suits with a clean haircut and stuff when appearing in court and plead good character, they front the media well etc.

None of this would work if anyone did due diligence but they intuitively know they wont.

Having odious politics and being a slimey coward doesn't mean he's stupid.

Prominent members of Australia's neo-Nazi network have also launched a series of targeted harassment campaigns at police officers.

Sewell said on a livestream that his followers had identified a Victoria police officer who, in recent demonstrations, attempted to remove a mask from a neo-Nazi protester.

He boasted that he had uncovered personal information on the officer, saying members of his group had saved wedding photos and images of the officer's family.

They may be adept at skirting the edges of the law, and staying out of prison. But there is no collusion with police. Quite the opposite, in fact. These guys will be under close scrutiny from police, and they in-turn are trying to doxx the police officers who they are at-odds with.

The cops necessarily lean fash mate. Yeah not all, but they're statistically a hell of a lot more sympathetic to nazis than like unions or students.
