I suppose major studios don't want to invest in 4ks that won't sell but with the attached names and awards this feels like a no-brainer. Apparently a boutique Blu-ray releaser has to step up but at least it gets it out there and there is now a 4k master available for other regions.

I remember being blown away when I saw that movie when it was first released. Cruise actually showed some acting ability instead of just playing "Tom Cruise" as he has in most of his films.

Tom Cruise is a bit like Harrison Ford. They're both good actors, but most of the time they're playing themselves. Or maybe they both have such a force of personality that you only see the actor. Harrison Ford has also had films where he does a good job disappearing into the role, like Mosquito Coast and Regarding Henry.

Mosquito Coast is a classic for sure. I hardly ever see anyone mention Regarding Henry, and I don't think I've met anyone in person who recognized the movie when I've mentioned it. That's a solid recommendation!

Watch cruise in Magnolia too. I get what you're saying and you're generally right and I'm not much of a fan of his "cruise" films but the dude can act.
