I don't know shit about Burkina Faso, and it's probably some brutal right wing dictatorship knowing the state of Africa, but if they truly did this to help enrich their citizens and not themselves good on them.

Well it's currently run by a military junta, with different military leaders seizing power in the past few years, so...

The current prime minister, upon appointment by the military junta's president, traveled to Russia, Iran, and Mali (also under a military junta).
