Is this the one where there's also a parallel stone age cave man plot going on in his head or something? I think I only watched the show
Comic Books
A place to discuss comic books of all types, from old to new, Big 2 to indie, and everything in between.
Floppies, graphic novels, compilations, omnibusses (omnibusi?) are all fair game.
There is only one rule:*
Comic Books is a no judgement zone.
You can talk all you want about how Rob Liefeld is trash, Bob Kane is an asshole, or Frank Miller and Dave Sim’s politics have made them toxic, that’s all good.
If, however, another user is LEGITIMATELY a fan of something you don’t like, that does NOT make them a lesser person. Attack the art for being bad, not the person for being a fan of bad art.
* I lied. There are TWO rules... No piracy. Cover shots? That's good. Interior pages, in moderation? Sure. Full books? Links to pirate sites? That's how we get things shut down. :(
I'm not saying it's been a problem, because it hasn't been.

The comic is cuhraaazy. 🤣
Yeah, I really enjoyed it for a while and then stopped reading it at some point because it didn't seem like it had a clear direction. It is very possible that I didn't pick up on some story thread that was supposed to keep me engaged.
I think the author felt the same, NGL.
I don’t know, maybe.
Such an odd yet enjoyable peice of work. I've only read the comic up to about where the show gets to, maybe a bit further, but what a ride. And a surprisingly good show as well! Me and a friend watched it and god damn does Mr. Gone's voice actor kill it
Pretty much surrealism as storytelling.
Kinda hard to keep up with as it was published because the time between issues made it feel janky, but when you experience in collected form, it works a lot better.
The early image books were magical. I also really liked Savage Dragon.
Savage Dragon still being published, I think it says issue 270 was last month.
Yep. I have them all. There were only 35 issues and they got progressively rarer and more expensive as they went. I found that odd compared to other comics.
One of my favorite comics of all time.
Is the comic based in the show or of the show based on the comic? I never knew there was a comic but I had the entire show on VHS. Great story but totally insane.
Show was based on the comic. And the show only covers a portion of the story captured in the comic series.
The show is based on the comic, yes.
