While the campaign paid in advance due to Asheville's policy for short-notice bookings, Trump has a long history of failing to pay cities for billed rally fees, leaving the White House in January 2021 with at least $850,000 in unpaid rally debt. Most of the bills are still unpaid, including more than $500,000 owed to The city of El Paso, Texas.

Too untrustworthy to be allowed to pay in arrears, yet some dipshits still think it's appropriate to let him run the country. Un-fucking-believable.

Deadbeat.

The Trump campaign booked the smaller of two venues at the same complex in downtown Asheville for Wednesday's rally. The Thomas Wolfe Auditorium has a capacity of just 2,431 people, while a larger arena next door that is not hosting Trump has a capacity of 7,200.

Oh, but Donnie, I thought everyone in the world wants to be at your rallies. Why would you shut them out?

My hometown. Genuinely shocked AVL is letting this happen but that city's changed a lot since I left it. Last I checked, the retirees had almost entirely colonized everything but the RAD. Anyone still there got an update on how things are now?

Decided to book a vacation here this week. Had no idea it was happening. Locals seem annoyed with it.

Have fun. If you like beer, swing by Burial. If you're parking downtown, College Street Parking Deck always has open spots, is less than 10 minutes from anything, and has a maximum rate of $8/day

Burial was good. I also just liked green man's taproom which isn't too far from it. Whole south slope was pretty good, at least to explore.

Green Man's fun and I'm guessing you went to The Funkatorium, too? Pricey as hell anymore, but yeah, AVLs downtown is still one of my favorites.

IIRC that is Wicked Weed's spot. If so, yeah I went before the buyout. I won't return since that.

Catawba was good, ABC was lackluster (if it's still around), Brahmari was good. Certainly no shortage within walking distance.

So the venue followed the same policy they would use for a Harris booking? And y'all somehow got the idea this is about Trump?

Someone who said that “Trump spends less time on track than a decommissioned train car” was trying to understand why Trump said the speech was about the economy. Now we know.
