Countries locking down their borders and increasing the peril of seeking asylum isn't reducing the number of refugees, its just getting them killed.

Climate change and fascists will surely make this worse.

This is a ridiculous article, it makes no effort whatsoever to explain why these people feel they have no choice. What do they need protection from? What protection do they believe the UK will provide that France won't? Or any other state for that matter?

Seems like another thinly-veiled propaganda piece from The Guardian.
