I know that !selfhosted@lemmy.world exists, but to be honest I feel like going there to ask some noobs questions is like going to the arch forums in my first day of using Ubuntu as my first distribution, my probably super dumb question it'll be obvious to the big majority except me. And no, I am not meant that the people in selfhosted is going to be angry with me or something like that, is that I just don't want to ask stupid questions there.

I already tried asking an IA but let be honest, the IA just go into the service repo and try to answer me using the information that I already read.

Edit: Thanks for all the answer, I gonna try asking on c/selfhosting. :3

Not sure what your question is or how people will respond, but in my opinion, asking for advice from someone with more experience isn't as shameful or 'dumb' as you might think.

I consider fearlessness in asking questions to be a sort of superpower. There was a saying on the wall in my 7th grade English teacher's classroom:

He who asks a question is a fool for five minutes. He who remains silent and does not ask remains a fool forever.

we all started somewhere, don't be afraid to post questions in !selfhosted@lemmy.world or maybe in !linuxquestions@lemmy.world (if it's linux-related)

Some nice people will help you for sure!

OP, I think you'll find !selfhosted@lemmy.world will be fine - please ask your 'probably super dumb' questions there, I'd be stoked to see some I could answer!

Don't worry about seeming dumb or noob-ish. Everyone starts somewhere. How can we learn without asking questions or making mistakes?

The /r/selfhosted wiki is still amazing and you might learn the terminology needed to turn your "stupid questions" into smart ones :)
