This was reported by the Russian Ministry of Health, three more died. Among the victims are 27 children, five of them are in serious condition.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, the city was attacked by ATACMS missiles, one of which deviated from its trajectory “as a result of the impact of air defense systems” and exploded over civilians. The agency claims that four American ATACMS missiles were shot down by air defense forces on duty.

The Main Directorate of the Investigative Committee opened a criminal case under Art. 205 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (terrorist act) regarding the attack of the Armed Forces of Ukraine on Sevastopol annexed by Russia.

The moment the ATACMS was shot down near Sevastopol. The footage shows debris flying straight onto the beach with vacationers

After the attack , local residents complained in chats that there were no warnings or alarms.

4 people died.

The Russian Ministry of Defense initially reported that 4 out of 5 missiles were shot down, and “another missile, as a result of the impact of air defense systems at the final stage, deviated from the flight path with the warhead exploding in the air over the city,” which led to the death of people. The Ministry of Defense later stated that “the detonation of the fragmentation warhead of the fifth American missile in the air led to numerous casualties among civilians in Sevastopol.”

Go vacation in an active war zone, what could go wrong?

Not just an active warzone, but I'm willing to bet you can see the military airbase from that beach.

On the other hand, they might not even know about the recent streak of Ukraine missile attacks on Russian sites. For all they know, not being in a city keeps them perfectly safe, since that's what Russia launches it's drones at..

I mean you'd think being so near an airbase with anti air defenses would be safer. seems they intercepted them very late though

A small price to pay to show off their air defense capabilities
