Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

There are plenty of GOP members doing truly horrific shit to not have to scrape the bottom of the barrel like this

[–] steal_your_face@lemmy.ml 4 points 4 months ago

GOP senator lies about how much he enjoys hiking and exploring on his dating profile

😱

[–] meeeeetch@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, but highlighting the horrific shit doesn't seem to stop them. Maybe highlighting the embarrassing will get them to at least feel shame for once in their lives.

[–] nilloc@discuss.tchncs.de 1 points 4 months ago

Gaslight, Obstruct, Project.

Nope, I don’t see anything about shame in there. Also those assholes just double down when embarrassing or worse news comes out about them.

[–] feedum_sneedson@lemmy.world 17 points 4 months ago (1 children)

That's not something we need to be bothered by.

[–] jeffw@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago (3 children)

It’s pretty creepy actually

[–] feedum_sneedson@lemmy.world 8 points 4 months ago

A little, but both sexes do it, and often. It's really scraping the barrel.

[–] BarbecueCowboy@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

I'm not saying it's completely okay, but I do think that's one of those lies that is kinda almost expected now.

I might tease a bit, but no matter what age a girl tells me she is, I'm going to go with it. I'm not really expecting the real number there and that's totally fine for me at least.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 2 points 4 months ago

Yeah, particularly because he's clearly doing it to try and prey on 20 somethings but you've fed us on PREMIUM corruption.

This amateur hour shit doesn't cut it anymore, we NEED our FIX

[–] itsgroundhogdayagain@lemmy.ml 14 points 4 months ago

People lie on the internet?

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 12 points 4 months ago (2 children)

For those wondering, he’s 37, and he said 29.

[–] jonne@infosec.pub 14 points 4 months ago

That's probably the least worst thing any member of the GOP has ever done.

[–] Etterra@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Meh, as long as he's only dating adults and not abusing anyone, i didn't care. People lie on those stupid things all the time, and age is at the top of the list along with height & weight.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 1 points 4 months ago

I don't do dating apps, but I've heard that men will tend to put down at least 6' for height since there is such a preference for height.

[–] ATDA@lemmy.world 6 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Kinda weird but really nominal considering what the rest of the party is being forgiven of by their base.

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 2 points 4 months ago

For real, this shit's weak, they're the American Fascist Party.

[–] buttfarts@lemy.lol 2 points 4 months ago (1 children)

Does anyone else think he looks creepily like a ventriloquist dummy?

[–] GladiusB@lemmy.world 2 points 4 months ago

Or just a regular dummy

[–] BigMacHole@lemm.ee 0 points 4 months ago

So? Lying isn't against the Bible!
