Very trippy/psychedelic digital art with eastern religious connotations. The Buddha in the background overlooks a humanoid figure in a golden bubble in the lotus position with sanskrit writing on their forearms and neon-colored roots growing from their legs.

I am become microplastics.

There is actually some hope. While there have been lots of studies showing that micro plastic is pretty much everywhere now in our bodies and in nature, there has yet to be a study showing that this is a bad thing. Like, obviously it's not good, but there is no solid evidence that it's harmful in a significant way to us. That's the best we can really hope for at this point though, because like I said before, it's EVERYWHERE. So if it is harmful, we're pretty screwed.

Microplastics trigger oxidative stress, disrupt metabolism, interfere with gut microflora and gastrointestinal functions, disrupt hepatic, cardiopulmonary and immune systems, and degrade reproductive health. Some additives leached from microplastics such as phthalates are endocrine disruptors and thus impact reproductive health
