Arrest these people once they are uncovered and send a proper message to China that this shit will not be tolerated.

But in reality, it will be tolerated. We want cheap stuff from China, nobody wants China to pack its toys and start a commercial embargo on them. They just need to be less obvious about the harassment of their ~~slaves~~ citizens...
We cannot allow another country to pretend they have jurisdiction in North America, that's beyond unacceptable. These enforcers absolutely need to be arrested and deported.
China won't do shit. They are just as dependent on the US/Canada, if not moreso at this point. If we allow this to continue we are essentially surrendering our sovereignty to them, while allowing them to harass and threaten our taxpayers. That is pure cowardice.
Ah, but they don't claim "jurisdiction" on foreign soil, they only use blackmail so you behave in a certain way if you don't want them to apply their jurisdiction "back in China" (onto your friends, family, or yourself if you ever go back).
The problem is decades of outsourcing and globalization that have left countries dependant on not fully friendly ones with different sets of values.
China... (don't mind they do the same stuff in GB/EU/Africa/Australia too)... but they might be less dependent on the US/Canada than the other way around. Right now they're pushing a "Made in China 2025" program, to become less dependant on others, and everyone else better do something similar.
There is a documentary video from Germany with similar happenings https://youtu.be/Pqpd8r8FirA (it has English subtitles).
It’s been a big problem in Canada where these stations dictate what does and doesn’t go in the local papers, who gets to run for public office from the Chinese community, and where funds get spent… mostly by pressuring Chinese Canadians by reminding them of relatives still living in China.
Amazing that they are able to operate so easily.
These types of so called "Police" from China are nothing but diplomatic thugs and terrorists. They should be treated as such.
Countries that wish to be a safe place for Chinese people to emigrate need to keep these kinds of tactics in mind when dealing with people seeking asylum from China.
China on the other hand; should be fully ashamed of itself. They have no right to treat their citizens this way; regardless of whether or not they renounce their citizenship of China. It is a violation of basic human rights.
