Yes BUT new construction is different from people just living there.
Nope, no insurance
Eh that’s just screwing people over
Stop building where it’s known to flood. It’s a no brainer. Nobody getting screwed except the citizens insurance paying to fix flooded homes WHERE IT IS KNOWN TO FLOOD
THATS WHAT I JUST SAID WHY ARE YOU YELLING
DID YOU FORGET THE S/ ??
These ones are the FEMA insurance. I don't want to subsidize wealthy shitheads rebuilding right next to water over and over. As long as rebuild counts as new construction this makes sense to me, help people move away.
Oh darn
I actually stayed in the house you can see right behind the wreckage in the photo. At high tide the water even there completely surrounded the house even though it sets higher in the dunes. Rodanthe is a fantastic place but the days are numbered.
If anyone wants to visit before it's gone, Austin's seafood is right by this location on the other side of the road. It's fantastic. Even though they're frozen I highly recommend the gator sausages.
