There is a show nsfw setting.
NSFW tags are still used for spoilers here. I’d be cutting out major parts of subs I want to see by disabling NSFW content.
I’m also having the same problems as OP. I can’t reliably browse local or all at work because some uncensored hardcore porn is fairly likely to show up
I've also seen posts marked nsfw that just had a naughty word or were mildly risqué. I don't want a completely tame lemmy experience. I just don't want a butthole to scroll across my screen when I'm standing in line at Target.
Yea it’s not difficult to remove it from your feed lol.
You can also block an instance altogether(lemmynsfw or something)
I've done this. It helped a bit. Still getting the odd community. It's not a major deal...just saying there's a lot. lol
I sort by active by default and don't see any nsfw usually. Also selecting to view "subscribed" channels may help
