it's an election year, and when your political power is essentially neutered by the results of the previous election, you have to do SOMETHING to signal to your constituents that you still care about the things they care about. I don't mean to be too cynical about things, it's just important to remember that this is a political move as much as it is a moral one.
It is always the right time to do the right thing. Let's have more of that.
AND it looks like Thomas has committed treason.
