By the way, there is no such thing as 'The Benben Pyramid.'

The closest thing to what they are talking about are Benben stones. Which, technically, are pyramids, but not the kind they mean.

What is it with these people that write these dumb make belief stories? Are they in it for the easy money? Are they in it for the attention? Is it the lulz?

What motivates people to create obvious bad fiction and the try to sell it as real?

It happens in the comments of places such as this very site. Often for the lulz, occasionally mental illness.

From there it repeats the pattern but with gullible added to the mix.

Silly rabbit!
Spreading their wealth of knowledge, as all humanoids are programmed to do.

There are lots of genuinely interesting mysteries, some of which suggest fantastic things, but this kind of stuff is just taking all the fantastic parts and mushing them together without caring about, well, anything really.

Some do it for the clicks, some are genuinely insane. The former attracts the latter and eventually it becomes a feedback loop.
