I still cannot believe they think people love Gollum. Why can't they just make a normal lord of the rings movie?
Yeah, I don't get it either.
There's plenty of stories to explore in the world of Arda. Why do studios keep coming back to Gollum? Where are these people who are crying out for more and more Gollum?
Do the Silmarillion you cowards.
They don't have the rights to the Silmarillion or they would have already.
I personally can't stand Gollum
He was actually supposed to be a secret sith lord but the reaction-
Wait hang on...
The last video game about Gollum was (understandably) a disaster, seems like they never learn
Tbf that had less to do with the character of Gollum and more with the studio taking on more than they could handle and producing an absolute mess of a game.
Because they already did? They did three. And they were so brilliant and are so beloved today that to attempt to remake them any time soon would be the height of folly.
A Hunt of Gollum movie isn't exactly the #1 choice for a story set in Tolkien's Legendarium that I would choose to be adapted. But of the stories that they have the rights to tell, it's a fairly interesting premise. It's not really likely to be a Gollum movie anyway. Aragorn is likely to be the protagonist.
It's going to be very hard for the new actor to be compared to Viggo Mortensen
The new guy will just have to break both feet
I'm sure Liam Hemsworth is game
Why can’t they just leave it as it is? The lord of the rings movies were good but we don’t need more. The hobbit series was pretty terrible. I don’t think anyone is clamoring for more. Prequels are garbage that no one wants, and there’s nothing post trilogy anyone would care about.
Is Gollum LOTR’s Jar Jar Binks?
Well, I mean ...
