What did they do to earn it? Should I respect IDF soldiers because they're drafted?
You should feel bad for the ones that were. A lot of people can't afford to risk draft dodging. It's like telling a starving man to boycott certain foods.
Pity and respect are two very different things.

There's a baseline of respect you should have for your fellow humans and you've implied that you don't have it for draftees for some unknown reason. Was that not your intent?
Not really. Sure, there's a baseline of respect for all humans. They are exactly at it, not any higher than any other person, all else equal. Draft dodgers are slightly higher because it's a based thing to do. And as I said earlier there's an exception to draft dodgers.
