Let’s see, here’s a short list of awesome movies

Zoolander

Super Troopers

Anchorman

Dumb and dumber

And here’s a list of awesome sequels to those movies

[–] TwigletSparkle@lemmy.blahaj.zone 8 points 6 months ago (4 children)

Bill & Ted

Tron

The Lord of the Rings trilogy

Star Wars trilogy

also I hear a Megamind 2 is in the works without Will Ferrel...?

[–] Amputret@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Why the fuck is Tron on this list? Tron Legacy is a great sequel.

[–] delirious_owl@discuss.online 6 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I think the second list was the list of good sequels

[–] Amputret@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Ah, I thought it was talking about The Hobbit trilogy, the Star Wars Prequels/Sequels, Bill & Ted Face the Music (though I haven’t seen it myself).

I wouldn't put Face the Music on the same level as Excellent Adventure, but I liked it as much as Bogus Journey. Alex Winter got back into the role of Bill so easily it was almost concerning.

Megamind 2 is already out!

(It's bad)

I recently found out there are actually multiple entries into the megamind franchise, including at least one new feature length movie and a tv series. None of which have any members of the voice actors from the masterpiece that is the original film, and all of which have some of the worst ratings I've ever seen on review sites.

Both Bill and Ted sequels were horrible. The third was actually worse than #2.

Bill and Ted 1 was a perfect movie.

perfect

excellent

That movie was absolute trash

[–] Son_of_dad@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago

Nobody has an in between anymore. Why must a movie be a 10 or "absolute garbage"? Why no in between??

[–] boaratio@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago (2 children)

I legit love Super Troopers 2. I regularly rewatch it, especially the Hockey Night in Canada scene. Highly recommend.

[–] NegativeLookBehind@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

A far cry from its original glory

[–] Tujio@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago

Happiness in your household was wonderful.

[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I felt like super troopers was a proper sequel. Enough throwbacks to keep fans entertained without just being a rehash of the old one.

Same with clerks 3.

[–] TheFriar@lemm.ee 2 points 6 months ago (1 children)

Clerks…3?

I was a huge Kevin smith fan as a kid. But…clerks 3? Is it really worth it? I could get into enjoying some of it again, but I just, yknow, inferred it’d be bad.

[–] SkyezOpen@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

Actually I was thinking of Jay and silent Bob reboot. Clerks 3 is a bit more heavy.
