It's the term for the primal urges, and instincts I believe, in Freudian psychology. In German it is "das Es" which would translate to "the It". More I cannot really explain

I guess, "id" is just Latin for "it"... ๐Ÿ™ƒ

Yep, I am not entirely sure why English translation chose to go latin, but Ego also is just Latin for I/Ich, which is what Freud called the other two
