A "Showerthought" is a simple term used to describe the thoughts that pop into your head while you're doing everyday things like taking a shower, driving, or just daydreaming. A showerthought should offer a unique perspective on an ordinary part of life.

Rules

  1. All posts must be showerthoughts
  2. The entire showerthought must be in the title
  3. Avoid politics
    1. NEW RULE as of 5 Nov 2024, trying it out
    2. Political posts often end up being circle jerks (not offering unique perspective) or enflaming (too much work for mods).
    3. Try c/politicaldiscussion, volunteer as a mod here, or start your own community.
  4. Posts must be original/unique

I can wear a dress to work and nobody criticizes me. I’d be really sad if I had to wear pants all the time, they’re just not as comfortable. Let’s normalize pretty dresses for dudes!

I for one am sick of hearing about "women's winter" with this. You are wearing a tank top, a short skirt, and sandals Janet. I have to wear long pants, a long-sleeve collared shirt, socks, and closed-toe dress shoes. Stop complaining. At least you get to be comfortable outside.

I’ve never heard it stated in those terms (“women’s winter”, ha!) but I agree with you. I’ll wear a sweater in the office if it means my neighbor doesn’t have to sweat through his suit. Ideally we could all dress in a way that’s comfortable and spend less on AC too!
