I just looked up some of his books and ordered this one: How Jesus Became God : the Exaltation of a Jewish Preacher from Galilee. Thanks for the tip!

His speaking engagements are pretty great, too. He has a bit of boiler plate but after that the talks are really interesting. My favorites are the early gnostic heresies.
