We have not found them to be in violation, either when it comes to the conduct of the war or the provision of humanitarian assistance,' the State Department said

The U.S. has deemed Israel in compliance with U.S. President Joe Biden's national security memorandum stipulating that recipients of U.S. weapons must be in compliance with international law, nor may they block the provision of humanitarian assistance.

I mean, Biden went around Congress to ban humanitarian aid to UNRWA as well...

And the US does violate international law fairly regular.

It's just now when the only other option is trump, Biden doesn't have to give a single shit as long as people vote for him because trump is worse.

It's like staying with an abusive spouse because you're scared of being single.

America deserves better than an abusive relationship with neoliberals. But nothing will ever change unless we kick them out.

because you're scared of being single

The issue with elections is that you won't become single, you'll just get a new (or old) spouse.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world 2 points 7 months ago

The issue is people are convinced the two private parties are parts of our government.

There were parties before them, they'll be parties after them.

This isn't the first time the only existing parties have failed the American people.

The difference is now everyone has Stockholm's and thinks they're our only choices because they keep telling us they're the only options.

It would be easiest if one was still acceptable. But they choose not to be.

no, its like staying with an abusive spouse because the alternative is your ex who is threatening to kill you.

Since you didn't scroll down before replying;

This isn’t the first time the only existing parties have failed the American people.

The difference is now everyone has Stockholm’s and thinks they’re our only choices because they keep telling us they’re the only options.

It would be easiest if one was still acceptable. But they choose not to be.

i did, and youre not wrong, but im still not going to choose 'death' this cycle

Everyone has their line.

I truly hope our system is fixed before yours gets crossed.

I just can't think of anyway to communicate that mines been crossed.

My primary isn't even till March, the DNC has already crowned their favorite long before then. And the DNC openly doesn't give a fuck about primaries anymore anyways.

So seriously, I truly want your opinion.

How else can we show the DNC that their base doesn't support them anymore besides not voting D in the general?

Because I'll be honest, I'm not even confident that works, but at this point what's another option?

[–] originalucifer@moist.catsweat.com 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

i will always vote least evil. ive watched these idiot democrats do fucking nothing for 40 years. i agree we absolutely need choices.

but there isnt a choice. theres 'help fascists' and 'dont help fascists' and thats not a choice for me. its just what we have to do to survive.

but hey, justify helping fascists all you want. if you think it will help your cause of pushing 3rd party options, well.. good luck.

what we need is ranked choice voting. that is what will get 3rd parties somewhere. theres only one party right now that might even kind of help with that.

So...

You've never realized the wealthy give money to both parties and have them both bought out?

You're being given the illusion of choice. And getting mad at people for being able to realize what's happened in the last 30 years.

Voting "lesser of two evils" today, gets you the "worst evil" of 20 years ago.

Guess what it's going to look like in 2048 if everyone keeps pretending either option is good?

Like imagine running around promoting OJ Simpson because the other option is Charlie Manson instead of asking why those are the only two options we get?

I just don't think I can put this in a way you understand. I hope this comment worked, but I'll never know

[–] catloaf@lemm.ee 2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Yes, we all know both options are different grades of shit. I don't see you suggesting anything better.

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world -2 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Breaking up with our two party system.

They're only the only two options because of inertia.

We've tried going thru the primary system, and it hasn't worked.

[–] catloaf@lemm.ee 1 points 7 months ago (1 children)

What does "breaking up with our two-party system" mean for you and me?

[–] givesomefucks@lemmy.world -2 points 7 months ago

Not just blindly voting straight ticket anymore.

It's not complicated.
