I've heard a lot of crazy things about Sweden in terms of metal music, I don't really believe in it much as a lot seems over the top and not that believable, I can just assume it's popular and that's it. Now, is rock really popular? and I mean not only classic rock but also modern rock that covers sub-genres like alternative metal/alt rock etc.

First there is classic rock, that is, rock an roll and current rock, which to sum it up is mainly alternative rock and alternative metal, my question is if both are popular

You formulate that question so weird. And it's hard to answer because you're so broad in what you ask. Yes certain band are popular even here.

When I mean rock, I mean classic and modern. But when many people think of rock, they only think of classic rock, and that's why I mentioned today's rock, which is different from classic rock. That's the summary of the question I asked.
